Friday October 6th   Today is final prep for the 60th Anniversary. Tali and I did a thorough cleaning in the Executive offices and I even cleaned all the Presidency’s office windows. I’m pretty sure they had never been cleaned but they sure look nice now. We went to one of the stores in the park and got goodies to put in the basket I put together for this occasion. Tali has been putting together all the VIP packets and presented me with 2 tickets for the Alumni show on Wednesday evening and for the HA show put on for the Alumni starting at 9:30 pm. She told me not to tell anyone so don’t spread the word. I know that staying up that late will be a stretch for me but I look forward to this special event.   Saturday October 7th-   The Archibald’s came over for breakfast then we hiked the Hauula Loop trail in the mountains behind our house.  Monday October 2nd This weekend was General Conference. It's a new experience to get up at 6:00 AM to watch conference but oh how blessed we are to be able to watch from the comfort of our own homes. The talks were amazing and I look forward to going back and reading and studying the messages. This past week has been so very busy. Terry and I are participating in singing for the Polynesian Choir 60th Anniversary Devotional next Sunday. We had 4 practices just this past week. However it has been an amazing experience to sing with the Polynesian people. We reserved tickets for next week when the Alumni perform. I can't wait to see the past Alumni perform, they have been practicing and practicing and do not have the young energetic bodies they used to but they still have a lot of spirit. Today one of our Senior Missionaries (Elder Archibald) asked if anyone had any miracles happen during their service at the PCC. Sometimes things happen that seem very small and we can forget that they are really miracles that blessed our lives, Gift’s from God to assist us in our Missionary Work here at the Polynesian Cultural Center. Last Saturday, Terry and I decided to spend a little time in one of the Islands at the Polynesian Cultural Center that we hadn’t had much time to fully explore. We decided to Visit the Island of Hawaii. As we walked around we tasted Poi, Played some Hawaiian games, watched the Hawaiian Island show with traditional song and dance. We watched a demonstration on how to catch fish in a net then we walked over to a little hut where a young woman was weaving a flower made from strips of dried Lauhala leaves. Tuesday September 12 th Anna, Dejah and Mykah came and spent a week with us. We had 2 queen air mattresses which we set up in our bedroom so they could sleep with Air conditioning. We made room for one of the mattresses by pushing our rolling clothes closet into the kitchen. They landed at our place about the time we got home from serving at the PCC. The girls just wanted to go straight to the beach so we took them to the Hukilau beach for a swim. Wednesday 13 th , Terry and I took the day off to spend some time with the girls. They wanted to hike to the Pill box and watch the sunrise. This required us to get up at 4 AM. When we arrived at the trailhead in Kailua it was still dark. We had to use our cell phones as flash lights to hike the steep trail. It was so beautiful though and was a fun experience. Friday was PCC day for the girls.
